Idea generation and selection is at the core of change in every organisation. How do we go about selecting the best ideas to address gaps and drive effective change? 

This experiential course will teach learners how to generate, select and communicate ideas through a systematic process. Transfer and apply these skills in your workplace to response to real-world issues.

    Charmaine is the Chief Digital Marketing Officer at Sky Digital Agency and Chief Learning Officer at The Good Designers.
     
    She’s a web designer by training, and started her first design agency in 2010, which eventually rebranded as “Sky Digital Agency” in 2014.

                Course Description

                Your boss demands you to reduce losses and improve sales by 10%. Your palms start sweating. You’re not even sure where to begin. If you succeed, all’s good. If you don’t… that would be your job on the line.

                When it comes to workplace problems, the line between sucess and failure can be thin. That’s why having strong problem-solving skills is essential whether you are a manager, team leader or employee.

                This course provides you with the skills to identify workplace problems that are hindering work process and personal effectiveness. Learn how to design and shortlist viable solutions using problem solving approaches. Understand the importance of testing and modifying your solutions until the problems are absolutely resolved.

                Learning Outcomes

                At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

                •  Identify the types of performance deficiency/cause of failures
                • Use facilitation skills to work with team members to address problems
                • Set criteria and shortlist viable ideas
                • Apply appropriate decision-making and problem-solving techniques
                • Evaluate factors underlying the effectiveness of implemented solutions
                • Develop corrective action plans for any shortfalls identified in solutions

                Cross-sectoral learning and development experience in specialising in the Industry 4.0, Skills of the Future, Advanced Engineering in the Process and Manufacturing Industry. Previous L&D consultancy projects also include Leadership and People Management, Chemical and Energy, Infocomm, Workplace Safety, Counselling and Social Work, amongst others.

                I am a Specialist Adult Educator (Curriculum) with the Institute of Adult Learning. Till to-date, I have developed over 100 WSQ modules and 30 skills standards in different industries since 2013 under Environiche LLP.

                Alastair holds a MSocSc and is a professional counsellor, trainer and certified life and executive coach working with individuals, families, and organizations to bring about change. Using counselling and therapy, he works with clients to resolve emotional and relational issues that are affecting their lives.

                As a coach and trainer, he enables clients to deal with internal & external resistance to make their desired goals and outcomes a reality.
