Course Description
Not all managers are leaders, and not all leaders are managers.
Join us for this experiential training to develop your effectiveness as a leader. Nurture people to scale greater heights. Implement plans to support top management strategies. When we push ourselves to become better leaders, those around us enjoy better outcomes too.
This course provides leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to support leadership development in teams and organisations.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Analyse the implications and impact of one’s leadership style and capabilities on employees and the organisation
- Model effective communication techniques and behaviours to demonstrate organisational values and ethics
- Use delegation as a framework to staff development
- Address barriers to communication to improve collaboration and effectiveness when working with team leaders
- Contribute to the development of implementation plans to support strategic priorities
- Apply persuasion techniques to influence team leaders to support strategic plans

Trainer

Social programming and community engagement experiences within the social service sector. Innovated and piloted social programme and resources such as the Work-Advancement Project and Roles&Responsibilities therapy aide. Provided organisational support and consultation in organisational development and business continuity strategies to VWOs.
I am a registered social worker with a keen interest in organisational development and social innovation. I have established professional competency frameworks to support the professional development and training of over 200 counsellors, social workers, and psychologists. I have provided pro-bono consultancy to social service agencies in competency and appraisal frameworks, business continuity plans and knowledge management.

Alastair holds a MSocSc and is a professional counsellor, trainer and certified life and executive coach working with individuals, families, and organizations to bring about change. Using counselling and therapy, he works with clients to resolve emotional and relational issues that are affecting their lives.
As a coach and trainer, he enables clients to deal with internal & external resistance to make their desired goals and outcomes a reality. Whether through therapy, coaching or both, his objective is to help clients bring forth better versions of themselves so that lives can be transformed.

Understand the foundations of leadership and how it impacts employees and organisation.
Building leadership
Learn management models, effective delegation, persuasion, and decision-making skills to sharpen leadership capabilities.
Supporting strategies
Contribute to the development of implementation plans to support strategic priorities. Analyse the relationship between high-level strategies and the development and implementation of business plans and processes at departmental level
Self as tool of change
Gain insights to the use of self as a tool to develop and inspire team members towards their unrealised potential
