A Self-Reflexive Approach to Develop Personal and Professional Competency


Course Description

Ever wondered why your best parenting efforts don’t seem to be getting the results you’re looking for? 

Perhaps it’s time to take a step back and re-examine what you have been doing in light of your past experiences and influences. Or perhaps it is time to take charge by raising your own level of awareness to regain your confidence and become a person of influence. Not just as a parent, but as someone whom others enjoy interacting with. 

Reflective practice is a systematic process to make sense of our experiences in the family. Every action, reaction or non-action has consequences in the way our child develop.  Acquire the skills and techniques to tap into your experience to enhance the way you nuture your child. 

Join us for this  Reflexive Practice training where we will bring you on a journey of reflective self-discovery. We will equip you with not just new skills and techniques but to also help you in your personal transformation so that every area of your life can be impacted as you put these newly acquired strategies into play.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Examine your personal parenting styles and factors influencing your values as a parent
  • Use various methods of reflective practice to make sense of your experiences in the family 
  • Apply the principles of reflective practice for constructive self-reflexivity
  • Handle complex and sensitive parent-child issues through greater awareness of personal assumptions and biases
  • Demonstrate tactfulness through elevated sense of self-awareness when interacting with other family members 
  • Apply reflective methods to identify areas of personal  growth to support continuous learning


22.50 hours blended-learning including face-to-face learning (via Zoom), self-directed e-learning and online assessment

Target Audience

Parents with an interest to acquire self-reflexivity to be in greater control of one's emotions, thoughts and actions


Learners who have successfully completed and passed the assessment will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) in Reflexive Practice issued by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
