I am an accredited social worker who believes that any change begins with taking the first step, one small step at a time. My philosophy towards social work practice is that social work necessitates the worker to learn beyond one’s disciplines to effect changes both at the individual and the system level.

10 years with the social service sector, I have been involved in public policy work, providing counselling and case management services in the area of correctional rehabilitation. I have conceptualised, implemented and evaluated a community-based job-support programme, delivered professional trainings and designed training curriculum for professionals.
I have a passion in organisation development and design. My previous work required me to establish professional competency frameworks to support the professional deveopment and training of over 200 counsellors, social workers and psychologists. I am passionate about human service organisations management, and provides pro-bono consultancy to social service agencies in competency and appraisal frameworks, business continuity plans and knowledge management.
I am a strong advocate of social innovation. I believe in finding new ways and strategies to improve the delivery of services. The Roles&Responsibilities (RNR), a therapy card tool, was designed to help new practitioners start meaningful conversations with families during interventions. I also facilitate free sharing on a wide variety of topics. I advocate for social innovations and the needs of specific groups of social beneficiaries through these sharing platform.

About Wai Fu

I summoned all the courage I had and left corporate culture behind in 2018 to pursue my belief. The belief that I could do more from within the community.

This courage was inspired by clients whom I have worked with, who have taken the courage to embrace new challenges that awaits them as they left the bars behind. As I prepare my clients to embrace change, shouldn’t I be practicing what I preach, and be more daring to leave my own comfort zone to pursue my dreams?

With that, I dived into the community and co-founded the social enterprise, Blended Concept, in 2019. I now find new meaning working closely with community stakeholders to design social programmes to close service gaps. Never looked back since.
