Enabling Lives Initiative Grant Awardee
Recognised for developing community-based approaches that strengthen inclusion and support for persons with disabilities.
We work alongside persons with disabilities, caregivers and community organisations to strengthen practical skills, peer support and inclusive communities that help people navigate life with greater confidence, dignity and connection.
Across Singapore, individuals and families are navigating disability, acquired conditions, ageing and increasingly complex caregiving responsibilities.
Whether someone is adjusting to life after a stroke, supporting a child with developmental needs, caring for an ageing family member or overcoming everyday barriers to participation, the challenges often extend well beyond formal healthcare and social services.
Information alone is rarely enough. People also need practical guidance, encouragement, trusted relationships and opportunities to learn from others who understand what they are going through.
We believe learning, lived experience and community support can work together to help persons with disabilities and caregivers make informed decisions, build confidence and participate more fully in everyday life.
Recognised for developing community-based approaches that strengthen inclusion and support for persons with disabilities.
Awarded further support to continue developing practical and innovative disability inclusion initiatives.
Working with community organisations, caregivers and persons with disabilities to understand needs and co-develop solutions.
Exploring structured, supervised peer-support models that complement professional and community services.
Blended Concept was an awardee of the Enabling Lives Initiative Grant in both 2022 and 2024.
The recognition supported our efforts to develop practical learning and community-based initiatives that strengthen the capabilities of persons with disabilities, caregivers, volunteers and the organisations supporting them.
These projects also reinforced an important principle behind our work: meaningful inclusion must be built with the disability community and informed by real experiences, not designed in isolation.
Our work brings together practical helping skills, caregiver support, inclusive learning and community capability development.
Our work is shaped through conversations and collaboration with persons with disabilities, caregivers, disability organisations and community partners.
These relationships help us understand real challenges, identify gaps in support and develop practical learning experiences that reflect the realities of everyday life.
We are continuing to explore approaches that bring together lived experience, peer support, practical learning and digital innovation. These initiatives are intended to complement, rather than replace, professional services.
By strengthening the wider support network around individuals and families, we hope to help more people access useful knowledge, build confidence and connect with appropriate support earlier.
Developing clearly defined and professionally supervised roles through which trained people with lived experience can offer practical, non-clinical support.
Combining expert guidance, lived experience and practical tools to make reliable learning more accessible to caregivers, volunteers and families.
Supporting caregivers with practical knowledge, communication skills, self-care strategies and greater confidence in navigating difficult transitions.
The future of disability support extends beyond individual services. It requires informed families, capable community helpers, inclusive organisations and stronger connections between people and the support available to them.
As we continue working with partners across the sector, our focus remains on strengthening practical learning, enabling community capability and developing responsible models of peer support.
Our goal is to help build communities where persons with disabilities and caregivers feel more informed, connected and empowered to participate, contribute and live with dignity.
We collaborate with disability organisations, social service agencies, funders, employers and community partners to develop practical learning, strengthen caregiver and volunteer capability, and explore responsible models of peer support.
Whether you are looking to strengthen your organisation’s capabilities, co-develop a new initiative or contribute to sector-wide innovation, we welcome the opportunity to explore what we can achieve together.
