Course Description

Most of us have felt that sense of helplessness when a colleague, customer or loved one is struggling and we are not sure what to say. Cultivating Resilience is a practical para-counselling programme that equips staff with helping skills they can use at work and in their personal lives.

Over two days, participants learn and practise essential micro-counselling skills, including open questions, affirmations, reflective listening and summaries (OARS), so they can respond with empathy instead of rushing to fix. They also explore the mindset of an effective helper, the ethics of supporting others, and when to seek further help.

Para-counselling does not replace professional counselling. It builds everyday helpers who can listen well, respond with care and point people to the right support.
