Be supportive. Stay accountable. Manage performance with clarity.
When performance slips, it is tempting to label someone “unmotivated”. Learn to look deeper: understand what is getting in the way, clarify expectations and choose a response that is fair, supportive and firm.
SkillsFuture funding is available for eligible learners. Eligibility and the nett fee payable will be confirmed before enrolment.
Why do some performance conversations lead to real change, while others only create defensiveness?
The Psychology of Performance Management gives supervisors and managers a practical, evidence-informed way to manage performance. You will learn to diagnose performance gaps using workplace evidence and the COM-B model of capability, opportunity and motivation, then match your response to the cause rather than to assumptions.
Through case studies, trainer demonstrations and role-play, you will practise setting clear expectations, giving specific feedback, responding to defensiveness and building improvement plans that combine support with accountability.
