Course Description

Do you feel burnt out because life is an endless balancing act – where the lines between personal, family and work life is blurred and you feel that you are on an endless treadmill going nowhere? Where the daily challenges you face threaten to overwhelm you?

Perhaps there is a better way to life the life you have. One where the people around you and the situations you face are no longer viewed as a threat to your well-being. One where you can regain control of your thoughts, emotions and behave in a way that can positively impact your environment and yourself.

Our mindfulness-based approach helps you manage stress by exploring and understanding your stressors so you can better deal with these. Through evidence-based mindfulness practices, you will learn to cultivate self-compassion, acceptance, and resilience, allowing you to navigate life’s challenges with greater ease and wisdom.

Course Outline

Mindfulness for Better Health and Well-Being.

Learn how daily stressors in life can build up and affect not just our mental and emotional being, but our physical health, relationships and our overall daily functioning. Examine the theories and scientific evidence in the context of you own life to see how you can deal with unhealthy and unwanted stress.

Well-being, Happiness and Resilience.

Happiness and well-being is not the absence of stress or difficulties but our ability to deal with these in healthy and helpful ways. Discover how mindfulness practices can impact your overall well-being to help you develop greater resilience in the face of adversity

Self-compassion is a Sign of Strength.

Discover the effects of self-compassion to develop resilience. Learn how this practice can affect your brain’s neuroplasticity to ‘rewire’ how you think, feel and behave. Uncover a side of you that can see beyond a lifetime of learnt behaviours to enhance your self-image and have more positive interactions with others.

Learning Outcomes

 At the end of the course, you will be able to 

  1. Mental Wellness, Resilience & Stress Awareness
    Examine the differences between mental health, well-being, and resilience. Identify personal stressors and understand early signs of burnout in yourself and others.

  2. Mindfulness in Action
    Learn practical, formal and informal mindfulness techniques to manage fleeting emotions and thoughts during high-pressure or emotionally challenging situations.

  3. Self-Compassion as Strength
    Explore the neuroscience behind self-criticism. Use self-compassion and reflection to maintain objectivity and professionalism when supporting others.

  4. Sustainable Self-Care and Boundaries
    Develop and model effective self-care strategies for yourself and peers. Understand the balance between performing duties and prioritising well-being.

  5. Peer Support and Resilience Culture
    Gain tools to advise and monitor peers for signs of burnout, and guide them to support systems and reflective practices that strengthen team resilience.

Duration

This is a 22.5-hour blended learning programme comprising:

  • In-person workshops

  • Self-paced online modules

  • Practice-based assessment

Certification

Participants who meet the attendance and assessment requirements will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA).

The Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be issued by SkillsFuture Singapore through the official training provider, Environiche LLP.

Language of Instruction

This course conducted in English. It is highly experiential, focusing on equipping you with the skills to enhance your interactions with others.

Learners are to be prepared for roleplays and reflection of their own patterns of engagement with others.
