Course Description

At some point in our lives, we must have experienced that sense of helplessness at not knowing what to say when we see our loved ones struggling emotionally.

Equip yourself with fundamental counselling skills to enhance meaningful interactions with others. Walk alongside your clients, co-workers or loved ones through their tough times. Para-counselling skills come in handy when people just need a little push to get back on their feet without the need to visit a professional counsellor.

The course aims to equip individuals with the fundamental knowledge and skills in counselling engagement, when working alongside with certified counselling professionals in their daily work.

Course Outline

1

Master the art of motivation conversations

Learn what it takes to be in the right frame of mind to handle all types of conversations, from demanding to difficult ones.

Root out unhelpful beliefs that translate into unhelpful habits in conversations.

Understand what it means to be truly non-judgemental, and what it takes for the other party to feel like you have empathised with them.

2

Mastery of Conversational Techniques

Imagine being able to connect with your clients on a deeper level, to truly understand their struggles and offer the support they need to succeed.

Create a safe and supportive environment for your clients to share their thoughts and feelings.

Listen and respond to your clients’ needs, helping them to gain a new perspective on their situation and find the path to positive change.
